  1. U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) situated in Bengaluru of Karnataka State is the lead centre of ISRO for satellite technology. URSC is in the forefront of spacecraft technology towards conceptualization, design, development, fabrication, testing, launch and in-orbit management of spacecraft. As a sequel to its mandate of spacecraft development, the centre is engaged in development of cutting-edge technologies of relevance to its activities and infrastructures set-up for design, development, fabrication and testing of spacecraft. Over a period of four decades, URSC has successfully established Indian National Satellite System (INSAT) which is one of the largest domestic communication satellite systems in Asia-Pacific region, Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) system which is one of the largest constellations of earth observation satellites in operation and Navigation with Indian Constellation (NAVIC) an independent Indian Satellite based regional positioning system with a constellation of seven satellites for critical national applications. The Space science missions like Chandrayaan-1, Mars Orbiter Mission, Chandrayaan-3, Aditya-L1, Astrosat and SPADEX have received worldwide acclaim and put India in the global map while at the same time inspiring the generation next. The future missions being undertaken by URSC are highly challenging and provide opportunity towards development of innovative technologies and establish the advanced infrastructure needed for space exploration and beyond.

    03 01 (UR) M.B.B.S with 2 years of experience (MBBS qualification should be recognised and registered with Medical Council of India and pass with minimum second class is essential) Attending to patients in Department Clinics. Handle medical and surgical emergencies. Pre-employment medical checkup. Periodic/ Mandatory Medical checkup of employees. Providing medical cover during training programmes.     Note

    i. Post Code 01 & 02:

    a. B.E / B.Tech or equivalent should be with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of a minimum of 6.84 on a 10 point scale or equivalent.

    b. B.Sc or equivalent should be with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of a minimum of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent.

    c. M.Tech / M.Sc or equivalent should be with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of a minimum of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent.

    d. Essential qualification (i.e. Post Graduation / Graduation) should have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the University. Where a University mentions both CGPA / CPI and percentage of marks in its Degree Certificate or Consolidated Mark sheet, then at least one criteria (either CGPA or percentage) should meet DOS/ISRO's eligibility norms.

    e. Where a university mentions only CGPA / CPI in its Degree Certificate or Consolidated marksheet, then the CGPA / CPI so mentioned should necessarily meet DOS/ISRO's eligibility criteria. Conversion of CGPA / CPI into percentage of marks is not permitted to determine eligibility, regardless of whether any conversion formula is prescribed by the University/Institution concerned. The same criteria applies mutatis mutandis in cases where only percentage of marks is mentioned in the Degree Certificate / Consolidated marksheet.

    f. Candidates possessing Degrees awarded by foreign universities should produce the equivalency certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, at the time of interview.

    ii. Post Code 03:

    a. Pass with minimum of second class is essential in MBBS with compulsory rotary internship.

    b. Candidates possessing Medical Degree awarded by foreign universities should have cleared the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and possess the FMGE certificate. Any foreign degree should be valid and duly ratified by National Medical Commission of India as equivalent to MBBS. The documentary proof in support thereof shall be submitted at the time of interview.

    c. Candidates shall submit their certificate of registration with National Medical Commission. Candidates registered with any State Medical Council, upon selection, shall submit registration certificate with National Medical Commission of India at the time of joining duty.

    d. Experience acquired after registration with National Medical Commission/ State Medical Council will only be eligible for consideration.

    iii. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) can apply for the posts suitable to them even if the post is not identified for them. However, such candidates will be considered for selection to such posts by general standard of merit. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of relevant disability shall alone be eligible for the benefit of age relaxation as permissible under rules.

    Wherever vacancies are not reserved, SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates may apply on par with UR candidates, in other words, no relaxations are available against UR vacancies. Departmental candidates, Ex-servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India Orders.

  6. How to apply


  7. i. For Post Code 01 & 03:


    • The link for the application for on-line registration will be hosted in the ISRO web-sitehttps://www.isro.gov.in / URSC web-site https://www.ursc.gov.in during the period from 23.03.2026 to 12.04.2026. Candidates may visit our website to register their applications on-line between 23.03.2026 and 12.04.2026. Applications will be received through on-line only. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.

    • The Applicants registered under National Career Service (NCS) Portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may visit Careers page of ISRO / URSC web-site and follow the application procedure.

    • It may be clearly noted that online application once submitted cannot be edited later. Hence, applicants are advised to verify the correctness of all details entered in the application are correct, before final submission of the application.

    • If any changes are to be made in the online application, the applicant may apply once again. In case of multiple applications, the latest application for which application fee is remitted will be considered as valid application. However, applicant should avoid submission of multiple applications for the same post.

    E-mail ID of the applicant will have to be provided in the on-line application correctly and compulsorily (Call letters for Written Test / Interview for screened-in candidates will be sent through e-mail only and no separate hard copy will be sent).

    No Objection Certificate: Candidates who are employed under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies etc. have to submit 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer concerned, at the time of Interview or as and when called for. However, the candidate should apply for the post only under intimation to and with the prior permission of the employer. Candidates, who get/change employment after applying, are required to inform the employer the particulars of their application and shall mandatorily submit NOC at the time of Interview. Any candidate, who fails to submit NOC in original at the time of Interview, shall not be permitted to appear in the Interview and TA will not be paid.

    ii. For Post Code 02:

    • Candidates have to register at ISRO Live register portal. Applications will be received on-line through ISRO Live Register portal only. Accordingly, candidates are advised to either register or update their registrations in the Live Register portal of ISRO on or before 12.04.2026.

  8. Uploading of Documents (For Post Code 01 & 03):

  9. i. Candidates are required to upload clear images/ scanned copies of the following documents in the Online portal, failing which their applications will be rejected: (While filling up on-line application, it is advisable to keep the below documents readily available to upload the same). ii. If any image other than recent colour photograph or scanned signature of the candidate is uploaded, such application shall be summarily rejected.

    iii. Applications submitted without uploading the requisite documents will be treated as Invalid.

    iv. The documents uploaded will be verified only during Interview and mere admission to appear for Written Test/Interview will not bestow eligibility for selection.

  10. Payment of Application Fee:


  11. • There is a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only) for Scientist/Engineer 'SC' (Post Code 01) & Medical Officer - 'SC' (Post Code 03). However, initially all candidates have to uniformly pay Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only) per application as processing fee. Processing fees will be refunded to eligible candidates as under.

    a) Refund in full i.e. Rs 750/- for candidates who are exempted from payment of Application fee (Women,SC/ST/PwBD, Ex-Servicemen).

    b) Rs. 500/- will be refunded to all the other candidates who appear in the written test (for Post Code 01) / interview (for Post Code 03).

    c) Processing fees will not be refunded to candidates who are shortlisted but do not appear for Interview (for Post Code 03) and candidate whose application is invalid/incomplete (for Post Code 01 & 03).

    d) Application fee will not be refunded in any other circumstance and no such requests will be entertained

    By default, refund shall be made to the original payment method only. However, in case of any failure with the original payment method, refund shall be made to the bank account details provided by the candidate in the application. Hence, Bank Account details may be correctly entered for receipt of refund of processing fee. Please note that refund will not be considered if a candidate fails to appear for the written test (Post Code 01) / interview (Post Code 03).

    URSC will not be held responsible for any issues arising in refund of the application fee as a result of incorrect entry of bank details by the applicant in the online application.

    In case of submission of duplicate / multiple applications by candidates, the latest application against which the ‘application fee’ has been received within the last date for payment of application fee only will be considered. Refund if eligible will also be processed only for the considered application.

    • The Application fee will be collected only through Online mode via Bharatkosh portal/payment gateway and the link for making the payment will appear on submission of the online application. The fee can be paid using any one of the following modes:

    o Internet Banking
    o Debit Cards (Domestic)
    o Credit Cards (Domestic)
    o Unified Payment Interface (UPI

    Payment of Application Fee in any other form like cash remittance, cheque, draft, money order, IPO, etc. are not allowed (or) No other mode of payment will be accepted. After completely filling up all the details in the application form, candidates will be redirected to BHARATKOSH payment gateway for making payment.

    Once the payment is confirmed, the candidate will receive a confirmation message and e-mail.

    •All Applicable service charges for payment of Application fee shall be borne by the Applicant.

    •Application fee can be paid immediately after submitting online application by clicking the "MAKE PAYMENT" button or later on any day on or before the last date for submission of online application, i.e. 12.04.2026 using the link provided in the advertisement page. [Applicants making online payment may kindly note that URSC, Bengaluru shall not be responsible for pending transactions or transaction failures. Applicants may contact their Banks and ensure successful payment of application fee. Ensuring a 'successful payment' from "Payment Status" link in ISROss website is mandatory for the applicants].

    •Do not click REFRESH or click on the BACK button during entire payment process else the session will be aborted.

    •Please follow the instructions of the payment gateway for making successful payment.

    •Applicants can check payment status after 24 hours of their payment successful and Print Receipt by visiting "Payment Status" link available in advertisement page. In case of pending transactions or transaction failures applicants are advised to contact their Banks and ensure successful payment of application fee.

    Note: There is no application fee for the post of Scientist/Engineer - 'SD' (Post Code 02).

  12. Selection Process:


  13. The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make the candidate eligible to be called for interview. There will be an initial screening, based on the academic performance and other parameters provided by the candidates / applicants in the on-line applications / Live register and only those screened-in candidates will be called for Written Test/Interview.

    a) For the posts of Scientist/Engineer - 'SC' (Post Code 01)

    i. Written Test:

    The Written Test will be conducted at Bengaluru only.

    Written Test will be of the following pattern

    ii. Interview:

    Candidates have to mandatorily score 50% each in Part A & B in the Written Test in order to qualify for the Interview. Based on the performance in the Written Test, candidates will be shortlisted for Interview, generally in 1:5 ratio with a minimum of 10 candidates



    In the event of tie during final empanelment, the inter-se merit of candidates will be decided based on the following tie-breakers one after the other on need basis:

    (a) Marks scored in the Written Test;

    (b) Marks scored in essential qualification notified for the Post.

    (c) Date of Birth, with older candidates placed higher

    iii. Qualifying Criteria:

    b) For the posts of Scientist/Engineer -'SD' (Post Code 02)

    Based on the online application made in ISRO Live Register portal, initial screening will be conducted for shortlisting the candidates for interview. Candidates called for Interview will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi also. Please note that the qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for interview / selection. The final selection will be based on performance of candidates in the interview only.

    c) For the posts of Medical Officer - 'SC' (Post Code 03)

    There will be an initial screening, based on the academic performance and other parameters provided by the candidates / applicants in the on-line applications and only those screened-in candidates will be called for interview. Candidates called for Interview will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi also.

    Note: For the post of Medical Officer, a Written Test purely for short-listing purpose may be conducted on need basis. The final selection will be based on marks scored in the Interview only.

    8. General Conditions:

    a. Only Indian Nationals need to apply.

    b. Applications received through the on-line portal will only be entertained. Physical applications will not be entertained. All further communications will be made to the applicants through e-mail / ISRO website only. Therefore, the applicants are advised to check their e-mail regularly and visit the ISRO website from time to time. ISRO/URSC will not be responsible for non-receipt of intimation regarding e-mail or / any communication due to technical or whatsoever reasons to the candidates.

    c. The posts are temporary, but likely to continue indefinitely.

    d. The number of vacancies indicated above is provisional and may vary depending on the actual requirements.

    e. The appointees are liable to be posted in any of the Centre / Units of the Indian Space Research Organization / Department of Space situated anywhere in India, as and when required. For details of ISRO Centre / Units, please visit https://www.isro.gov.in.

    f. ISRO reserves the right either to not fill up all or any of the posts / vacancies, if so desires.

    g. Candidates pursued Professional course through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible to apply for recruitment to the advertised posts.

    h. If a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility / conditions given in the advertisement at the time of last date of receipt of application, his / her candidature will be cancelled summarily at any stage on scrutiny whenever the discrepancy is noticed i.e. before, during or after Written Test/Interview.

    i. Outstation candidates short listed for Interview will be paid to and fro Second Class or Sleeper Railway fare by the shortest distance from the address given in the on-line application to the place of interview or non-A/c Bus fare or actual fare whichever is less on production of proof of journey, irrespective of the mode of journey performed by the candidate viz., Rail, Bus, Air, etc. If a candidate travels in a higher class of accommodation, by train, by bus or by Air, only second class train fare by the shortest distance excluding reservation / sleeper charges will be paid. (The candidates who are allowed for Interview after the successful document verification will alone be paid eligible Travelling Allowance). TA is not applicable for candidates appearing in the Written Test (Post Code 01).

    j. Candidates called for Interview will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi also.

    k. Ex-servicemen have to submit a copy of the Discharge Certificate duly indicating the Ex-service status at the time of Interview.

    l. If candidates possess higher qualification and /or experience in addition to those prescribed as minimum, they may be called for Interview for the post for which they have applied, but the higher qualification and / or experience shall not give the candidate any edge over other candidates adequately qualified as per the advertisement. The selected candidates shall be offered only the advertised grade / post.

    m. The candidates who have passed out in the relevant examinations only are eligible to apply. Students waiting for final result need not apply.

    n. The duties of notified posts include attending to general duties as well as shift/emergency duties on round- the clock basis.

    o. Any request for change of place/date of Written Test/Interview or e-mail id/mobile number for communication will NOT be entertained.

    p. Candidates should be willing to undergo biometric verification (for Post Code 01) at various stages to capture photo and thumb impression and IRIS Scan in digital format for biometric verification. Candidate shall ensure that his/ her correct thumb impression and IRIS Scan is captured at various stages as any inconsistency will lead to rejection of his/her candidature. Accordingly, candidates are advised to follow the guidelines that shall be provided in the call letter.

    q. Candidates belonging to PwBD should either produce the original Disability Certificate in the prescribed format as given in Annexure-I (in case of Single Disability) and Annexure-II (in case of Multiple Disabilities) or Unique Disability Identification (UDID) Card as per Rule 18 of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024 at the time of Written Test & Interview. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of relevant disabilities shall alone be eligible for benefits and reservation or other relaxation as permissible under PwBD on production of the following UDID card:

    • Yellow Band Card (When the disability percentage of a Person with Disability is forty percent or above but below eighty percent).

    • Blue Band Card (When the disability percentage of a Person with Disability is eighty percent or above).

    The definitions of Disabilities shall be as specified in the Schedule to the "Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016" and as amended from time to time.

    Candidates shall produce physical limitation certificate and undertaking as given in Annexure-III and Annexure-IV respectively at the time of Written Test (if opting for scribe / compensation time) clearly indicating the percentage of disability.

    Guide lines for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities Using a Scribe:

    Candidates with Benchmark Disabilities whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently for any reason can use their own scribe at their cost during the Written Test, subject to limits as in "ii"; "iii"; and "vi" below. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:



    i. The Candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his /her own cost.

    ii. The scribe may be from any academic stream. The qualification of the scribe should be one step below the essential qualification as prescribed for the post.

    iii. A person acting as a scribe for one candidate cannot be a scribe for another candidate.

    iv. The candidate will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that his / her scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria mentioned above. In case it later transpires that he/she did not fulfil any laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the Written Test.

    v. Only candidates who submit certificate for compensatory time as per prescribed format shall be eligible for grant of Compensation time @ 20 minutes/ hour, if he/she is willing to utilize.

    vi. During the examination, at any stage, if it is found that scribe is independently answering the question, the candidate's candidature will be cancelled. The candidature of such candidates using the services of a scribe will also be cancelled if it is reported after the examination by the invigilator / supervisor / observer that the candidate / scribe has resorted to any such malpractices.

    r. No interim correspondence will be entertained. However, in case of any clarification, candidates may send their mail to rmt@ursc.gov.in .

    s. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM FOR SECURING EMPLOYMENT IN URSC / ISRO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF THE CANDIDATURE OF THE APPLICANT.

    t. 12.04.2026 (LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF ON-LINE APPLICATIONS) will be the cut-off date for all purposes like computation of age, acquiring of qualification, etc.

    u. It is for the candidate to ensure that he / she fulfils the eligibility criteria and comply with the requirements and adheres to the instructions contained in this advertisement as well as in the application form in all respects. Candidates are therefore, urged to carefully read the advertisement and fill in the on-line application form and submit the same as per the instructions given in this regard.
